Building Advocacy by Raising Awareness

“…by simply sharing animal rescue stories…”

Becky enjoying retirement.

Where it all began…

This story really began when I found myself retired and a devastating tornado laid down the entire town of Mayfield, Kentucky. I’ve lived in the western Kentucky region my entire life, and never had I witnessed such destruction. The displacement of life was overwhelming… I found myself volunteering to search for missing animals who hadn’t found their way back home.

We had our share of successes, failures, and heartbreaks during the clean-up, but through the process I learned about the deeper needs in our area. These organizations needed help and support long before the storm arrived, and still need our support now.

Listen, I won’t go into details, but their is no sense in animals being euthanized. Each one is a failure on us, and we can do better.

That’s where this blog comes in. I enjoy volunteering my time to animal rescue services in my area, and by simply sharing some of my animal rescue stories I hope to be part of the solution, raise awareness, and educate people about animal welfare needs.  Hopefully, this site will help people find rescue services in their area and encourage them to get involved.

If you’re in the mood for some heartwarming stories, be sure to check out my blog, and subscribe to my newsletter to watch the adventure unfold.
